I wonder if people would be so open-minded about Anne's situation in real life? I can picture the villagers with their pitchforks and torches, but nowadays with all that political correctness... I love how well you've characterised every family member. In some legacies one or two are almost faceless in the background, but you've made it so we can identify with every chracter.

Hello fellow Smustle Fairy! I just started reading your Victorian Legacy. I’ve only gotten past chapter 1 so far. Here are a few of my favorite parts.

As I was reading trying to get a feel for the story, I read this line and nearly chocked on my morning tea.

“In true British fashion as soon as they are alone Gabe and Elise start talking about the weather.”

Your story starts out with an explanatory feel then flows into a bit of dry humor that had me rolling with laughter. I had my brother read it too, but he didn’t get it. Maybe I am reading too much into the line, but I found it hilarious.

The first birth scene was funny too; I couldn’t help but agree with her. Sometimes I need a little Chloroform too.

Elise: "In that case I want Chloroform!!"

The image you took of George and Elise begging for something fun is great! I love that picture! The looks on their faces is excellent and the fact they did it simultaneous is classic!

George: “I want to have some fun!"

Elise: "Me too Creator!"

I have added your Legacy to my list and will definitely continue reading. Now I am off to work so, I may avoid a scolding for tardiness.

Yes, I'm afraid desperation drove Henry to act that way, in the end he thought it was the only thing left for him to do in order to become heir. As for his 'tache...I needed to do something to balance his face, it looks so wide with his combination of features, and, yeah I did want to hint that he wasn't the most trustworthy of characters, and a moustache does that.

I'm glad that you are sympathetic to Suzie. I've found the cows to be annoying, but never evil in my game, so I wanted to have her easily lead and doing Henry's bidding, even if she wasn't aware of it.

As I've said before I love Anne, so I'm very glad that she's going to be around for quite some time. So far she has been having fun but unfortunately due to a very nasty glitch all the pictures I took were black, so I can't show it.

I've got a couple of ideas for William, so hopefully his time as heir will be entertaining.

Thank you for the compliment with regards to my characters, I will admit I was worried about having so many children this generation, but it's not been that bad, and I'm glad that they are all reading as being well rounded.

Welcome aboard. I'm so glad that Gin put us all together in her legacy, I've found some really good stories that I may not have come across otherwise.

I creased up when, just as I was trying to get a romantic end to Gabe and Elise's first proper meeting, he started congratulating her on seeing snow for the first time. I think he did it three times, and all I could think was, "typical Brit" so I had to put it in when I wrote it up. I hope that you continue to find it funny, my sense of humour doesn't always translate well, so I never know if people laugh when I expect them to, or if they are scratching their heads going, "that's not funny." I will admit though, that the last chapter wasn't that funny, I went dramatic instead, but hopefully you will enjoy it.

I love it when my sims give me the perfect shot, I'm sure that if I had tried to stage it, it would have taken ages and not been as good.

I'm going to keep you all informed in the first post, partly so you know what's happening, and partly because it helps me to be able to tell someone how things are going.

As I say there, I'm cautiously optimistic that things are good at the moment, it's just taking time to build/modify the houses I use. I really don't want to have to give up writing this, I enjoy it too much, so I just have to see what happens. If worst comes to the worst, I'll just have to come up with a system for using screen dumps for the pictures, something that would be very time consuming, but at least I would be able to continue writing.

ETA I'm taking it off of hiatus-everything looks to be ok, the 'hood has been rebuilt and everyone is the correct age again. In fact I'm back where I was before the glitch struck.

She really does look sad blowing that tooter as the twin's birthday But it's good to see some of her old self shine through when faced with Anne and yet another of her dresses! Love Williams top hat, love it. But they both look great at the wedding, and Beth really cleans up well!

Ooo, yay! More Bon Voyage. As I was saying to Styx, I love getting tours of it through everyone's Legacies because I can't use my own - so yaaaay! The dinner conversation made me laugh, let's hope their communication gets better.. I hope it's not something Williams doing due to what happened with Henry. Those crossiants look super snazzy, do they come with BV or are they a download? .. Ah, it is a problem with Henry. Poor old William, he's really been through it. Not a great start to heirdom, but I hope he'll purk up if they have a child. Oh I see! The house is full! That explains it. Beths looks so surprised when William takes her hand, very very sweet

So William has tatoos? Now, I definitely would not have guessed that! (May I assume this would be Gabe's skin then? I think you mentioned something like it in chapter 1.)
I'm so sorry for Beth! First she has to abide by the pre-marital woohoo restriction and then post-marital doesn't work out either. No wonder she feels rejected, poor soul! Strictly speaking, I guess she could have had the marriage annulled due to non-consummation. Now aren't you glad sims don't know that?
Poor Allyn, too! I understand that she feels guilty with her kids being wannabe murderers and vampires. Although she's probably better off feeling guilty about her parenting before a certain Dr Freud's ideas really caught on. Now, that might have sent her over the edge given that she's already having a hard time putting up with Anne's fashion choices.

BTW: Is this sim me sporting my original short hair cut in one of your pictures? I love how I'm trying hard to look different even in the 1800s! 15-year-old real me had to resort to a pink mohawk to achieve the same effect.

Aww, I knew you’d love that hat, it’s actually one of my favourites and I’m always on the look out for recolours of it.

I know, I hated having Allyn cry, she’s one of my favourite sims ever. Such fun to play, and always, always wanting to interact with her children. I don’t know what happened with Henry. I always take a lot of my characterisation (and therefore plot) from the sims’ actions in game and I can honestly say that he is the nastiest sim I’ve played. Following the re-build I had to have Gabe and Elise alive to get their portraits and urns. The first time I went in to play Henry after their deaths his first two wants were make Gabe a zombie and make Elise a zombie. None of my other 1nice point sims have ever rolled wants like those, and I’ve got a lot of them this family, Alexandra’s another one by the way.

Well, I had to have her comment on that dress. You can’t see it too well in the pictures, but it really is not the sort of dress you should wear to a wedding. Not as low cut as her everyday dress, but still not at all appropriate. Talking of Anne, I’ve posted a few pictures of her in the share your monster thread, where she is being re-vamped by Mathias if you feel like checking them out.

I was surprised at how pretty Beth is, especially in her wedding dress, but she always looks slightly startled, bless her.

I wasn’t at all sure that I would be that impressed with BV, but actually I really enjoy playing the holiday destinations. The croissants are from MTS2, they’re not in my game at the moment, but I’m starting to miss them, so I think I’ll put them back.

Yes Henry is technically the elder sim here. Just hope he doesn’t realise it.

I thought it was very fitting that you gave the business its first star. I’m sure you will get the legacy orb question sorted soon.

One of the advantages to the new ‘hood is the fact that there are half as many character files than the old one, which means I’m more likely to see sims I add to the ‘hood. As soon as Arvi walked past, I had to get them to greet him, everyone needs a shrew in their life.

Yep, new heir means a new banner. I was starting to tire of seeing George complaining anyway.

You have no idea how relieved I am to be able to continue sharing this with you all.

Yeah, that was my booboo with Gabe’s skin. I’d been mucking about with trying to create a tattooed skin, and I put it on the sim that I was making in body shop. Well, I used that sim as my founder, but forgot to change his skin , so George, Elizabeth, Violet, Charlotta, William, Enid, John and now probably Alexandra, and Edward (you’ve not met him yet ) all have tats. Strangely though, when I aged Gabe down in the new ‘hood to get his portrait, his skin tone changed to the second one, and stayed like that when I aged him to elder again.

I must admit I really felt for Beth having to wait so long, that’s why I moved Alfred and James to uni after two days of being teens.

Oh yes Allyn definitely doesn’t need anything more to feel neurotic about. The thought of what she would have made of some of Feud’s theories just makes my head hurt.

Yes, that’s your original hair. It actually works really well with your dress, which given it is a very Victorian dress somewhat surprised me. I really like the hair your simself sports in your legacy actually, where did you get it from?

Anyway, uh, first: sorry for never commenting on the last chapter; I read it and loved it - or rather, was dismayed at Henry. Really, I didn't think he would do something quite that awful - and he's still hiding something! Argh, who is he talking to? Who is this mysterious lady? You and your foreshadowing!
Apart from that, I'm really really looking forward to what the next gen will look like - Hopefully William and Beth's genes will sort of balance each other out. Oh, and Evelyn is adorable, yes she is.

Can't wait for more!

I what to know who Henry is conspiring with so badly! I bet it’s a Simself. Circe is a tricky one. I cannot take my eyes off her for a second.

By the way, what eye colors do you use for your sims? They are gorgeous.

And speaking of gorgeous, Beth is beautiful. All of your legacy girls are pretty. Who knew the Komei face would work so well in females.

I was surprised to see Circe. She looks wonderful in her Victorian garb. Just looking at how cute she looks makes me want to do a period legacy too. I will have to finish the Geogacy first of course.

I was soooo excited to see an update of your up on the boards. I have no idea how you managed to get through it all and still have everyone looking just as if it didn't happen. That takes a considerable amount of detemination, so I commend you for that. I'm also really, really glad that you did it. I absolutely love this family and after what happened at the end of last chapter *gasp* That would have been a terrible way for it all to end

Your opening is very sweet and cleverly thought out. (The fact that Gin and I are there is a side bonus ) When you started to write about the sad situation at the legacy family house it did make me feel bad. I'm so glad you wrote this in...

Ok, but aside from all the bad stuff, I really love the addition of Beth to the family. I don't think you could have picked a better match for William. The two of them are very sweet and fun to read about.

“William I know that things are far from easy at the moment, what with the events at the end of university, but please, I am your wife and I love you very much. You can talk to me and share your feelings and worries. You do not have to keep them to yourself”

I'm glad that the 'only' reason for their delayed 'woohoo' was the family size. I would have hated for them to have had marriage problems so soon after their wedding. (Unlike a Simpleton family I know )

I am also glad to see that Allyn is starting to come around a little after Henry's terrible attempted murder of his brother. Thank goodness for George.

Goodness, I would really, really hate for Henry to learn about the whole (he is now the oldest) issue that came about from you having to reload and redesign the hood.

The more he thought about it, and became obsessed with being heir, the less he could see anything else but being heir. It was as if he was removed from the reality of what he was doing. Last time I played the house Alexandra toddlerfied, and so far she looks just like her daddy, but that might change as she gets older. I can't wait to see what any other children will look like.

Yep, the whole thing was brow-beaten into submission with a lace hankiechief. It actually didn't take as long as I thought it would, thankfully and in some ways it was really cathartic going through my downloads and really sorting them properly.

The spares and cousins aren't subject to the more restrictive parts of the handicaps, but they still can't woohoo until they have left university, so John will have to wait a bit. He really is a charmer so he should be rather fun to play.

I'm glad you like the dress.

I love Crazy Gay Huggy Servo, he cracks me up whenever I see him in your legacy, but I think I might be better off without the cheated on memories, and such, so I'll use that strategy sparingly.

Thanks for the compliment about the eyes, they're one of the few bits of CC in the game that I made. You can download them from here if your interested in using them, and I've got another eye set here as well which has some more unusual colours.

I agree all the girls are really pretty, I love the genetic aspect of the game, and I think it just goes to show that sims can be beautiful when you use a variety of face templates.

I'm glad you like the dress Circe is in. One advantage of the new 'hood means that all the characters get to be Victorians this time round, well as many as I can make anyway. I'm also Victorianaising all of the community lots, it's quite a bit of work, but it looks good.

It was a lot of work getting it all back to how it was, but I was lucky in that I had all the characters extracted already, and I was able to use screen dumps to get plans of the house. As I say to DrSupremeNerd, it didn't actually take as long as I thought it would and although there are still a few things I need to do, they don't affect the main branch of the family, so I can do them as and when I need to.

I'm glad you liked the opening, I wanted SimDi to have some support when she ventured back to the house after what had happened, and thought, who better than some simselves who had been through some rough times with their own legacy sims? Writing about what was happening in the legacy house really got to me, so I needed a tissue too.

Beth and William, really are incredibly sweet. They are rather similar characters in many ways, and they just work so well as a couple. I felt so sorry for the two of them not being able to woohoo for so long, but because I got impatient to get the boys home from uni I missed a rotation at the main house, and so Alfred and James were younger than I had originally planned them to be.

George really has been most supportive of Allyn, so much so that his feelings have been a little overlooked.

I think that Henry will always be up to something, plotting has become his life, and the simselves are going to have to keep a very close eye on him.

I love my new graphics card not only do I have reflective water now, but it made the game runs so much faster too. I can now see the difference between light and heavy rain, and the precipitation looks so much more real too. The new processor was just the icing on the cake, and I now think I'll be able to get Freetime without it causing the dreaded lag.
